  • Daring and innovation.

We recognize the interest that Indigenous People and community stakeholders have in our business.  We seek appropriate and effective ways to contribute to the well-being of the communities in proximity to our operations and planned future developments.

We accomplish this together through:

Regulatory Compliance – We comply with regulatory processes respecting consultation contributions from Indigenous communities.

Community Relations – We are dedicated to maintaining strong, positive, and long-lasting relationships with our neighbors in the vicinity of our operations. We will work with Indigenous and local communities to maximize participation and benefit for Indigenous and local communities as well as Indigenous and local businesses in the area.  Our strategic focus is on maximizing employment, work force development, subcontracting and business capacity building opportunities.

Community Involvement – Being a part of the communities is important to MSJV, our employees and our subcontractors. MSJV has participated in community events, fundraising and social investments.

Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability – We strive to ensure our projects consider Indigenous knowledge, mitigate, or minimize adverse environmental and socio-economic effects, and do not significantly affect the capacity of renewable resources to meet the needs of the present and those of the future.

Aligned with MSJV corporate values, we honor our Indigenous relationships that are mutually beneficial and based on clear communication, that is transparent, honest and respectful.  Through ongoing dialogue, we work together to identify sustainable opportunities to contribute to the economic reconciliation in the area that we work.

MSJV Acknowledges and respects that:

Commitment to Communities

MSJV aims to be a good neighbor wherever we work respecting the people and the environment with safety as our top priority.  We believe strongly in participating and contributing to the communities in which we live and work.  Community investment, community participation, inclusiveness, and maximizing benefits while minimizing impacts are priorities.

MSJV is a member of the Community Partners Program which is an industry-wide program designed to strengthen the oil and gas industry’s social license to operate.  The program focuses worker attention on local concerns related to oil and gas activity—dust, gates, garbage, noise, driving safety and traffic.  It also reminds oil and gas workers and contractors to communicate openly with area residents and treat them and their property with respect. Community Partners supports the principles of the BC Ministry of Energy’s Living Together-Working Together initiative to maximize the benefits and minimize the impacts of the oil and gas industry.

MSJV supports the Moose Hide Campaign which encourages conversations and highlights the movement to end violence against women and children.  We are committed to honor, respect and protect the women and children in our lives and to work together to end the violence.
